James D. Holloway

James D. 'Jim' Holloway, age 69, of Pinckneyville, IL passed away on Sunday, February 16, 2003 at 5:39 a.m. in the Pinckneyville Community Hospital.

Jim was born on February 3, 1934 in Herrin, IL the son of William Douglas Holloway and Lillie Mae (Childers) Holloway.  He married Marlene Kennedy on August 15, 1953 in Pinckneyville, IL and she survives.  Jim was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Korean Conflict.  He worked as a salesman for the Western-Southern Life Insurance Co. before retiring in 1989.  Jim was a member of the First Apostolic Church in Pinckneyville, the Mitchell Lodge #85 AF & AM, and the American Legion.

Survivors include his wife Marlene of Pinckneyville, IL, a daughter, Diane Marlow of Pinckneyville, IL, a grandson, Dan Marlow, wife Candy, and children, Carley, Bryce, and Alyssa of Centralia, IL.  2 sisters, Dianne Wright of Pinckneyville, IL and Dolores Jones and husband Alva Dean of Granite City, IL. and numerous other relatives and friends

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Robert Lee Holloway

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, February 19, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. in the First Apostolic Church in Pinckneyville, IL. with Pastor Leonard Glover officiating.   Interment was in the Holts Prairie Cemetery in Pinckneyville, IL

Visitation was held at the Pyatt-Harrawood Funeral Home in Pinckneyville on Tuesday, February 18, 2003 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and on Wednesday, February 19, 2003 from 8:00 a.m. till 10:30 a.m.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the First Apostolic Church.
